Kathy J. Barrett is a retired social worker with over 40 years of experience working with youth, young adults and families. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia State University and a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has been a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. for 45 years, joining Phi Chapter at Virginia State University. Upon returning to the East Coast, she joined the Howard County Graduate Chapter, Lambda Gamma Zeta. Since joining Lambda Gamma Zeta Chapter, she has served in leadership positions at the local, state and regional levels. Kathy has been volunteering with Howard County Special Olympics for the past 11 years, and serves as the head coach for the Powerlifting team. When not serving her community, she enjoys traveling, shopping, dancing, exercise, reading and exploring new adventures.
