Rogers Barnes, Director

Rogers Barnes became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc at Norfolk State University, when
initiated by the Delta Zeta Chapter, in 1975. Bro. Barnes graduated in 1978, with honors, with a B.S.
degree in Accounting. He became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1981. An MBA degree in
finance was obtained from Loyola University.
Bro. Barnes has been active in Sigma for 50 years, having immediately joined the Zeta Alpha Sigma
Chapter after relocating to Columbia in 1979. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity awards include Eastern
Region Prominent Brother Service (PBS), State of Maryland Hall of Fame, and many local chapter
awards.
Bro. Barnes, has had an extensive career in accounting, finance, development, etc. He serves on
multiple board of directors for corporations, non-profits and as a social and political activist in
Maryland. Bro. Barnes is Owner and President of Lewrox Enterprises.
Bro. Barnes, a father of 3, is an ordained Baptist Preacher, who serves at St John Baptist Church where
he is a member of the Trustee Board, Financial Operations Committee, Associate Minister, worked
within Church Without Walls and sings in the Male Chorus. Bro. Barnes also represents Phi Beta
Sigma at the St John Baptist Church annual Divine Nine Worship service where he presents on Sigma.
National acclaim was achieved for both Bro. Barnes and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc as Bro. Barnes
was recognized for exposing the accounting fraud at Fannie Mae. Bro. Barnes has been featured on
radio and in numerous international and national print media, including USA Today, Wall Street
Journal, Black Enterprise Magazine and many others. Critical testimony provided to the Securities And
Exchange Commission (SEC), the Justice Department (FBI) and the Office of Federal Housing
Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO).
